Rainy days, the first disaster, and friends with tricks up their sleeves.

Café District gets weather: rain that sends guests looking for something hot, and storms, the first disaster, with lightning for your garden. Machines now wear down until the technician calls, and friends can leave pranks when they visit.

Rainy Days

Every café now has its own sky. When the rain rolls in, umbrellas open along the street, puddles gather on the pavement and drops run down your windows. Guests want something warm, hot drinks sell for a little more, and the rain fills your rain barrels for free.

The district's first disaster. The hardest rains become storms, with thunder, wind and, from level 8, lightning. Wind knocks over growing crops; prop them back up with water from the barrel. Lightning can set your garden on fire: tap the over the burning bed in time to put it out, or the crop burns and leaves ash to clear. Your clock warns you 15 minutes ahead.

From level 8, your machines wear as they work, through six stages you can see on them, from Showroom New to Battered and Broken: grime builds, the shine dulls, and a broken one goes dark and smokes. Its card shows its condition as a percentage, and a worn machine works slower. When the appears over it, tap it and call the technician to bring it back to excellent, or Finish now with gems.

Friends behaving badly

Pranks

The pranks friends can leave: a snail, weeds, a crow, a syrup spill and confetti

Visiting a friend? Leave them a prank: snails or weeds in a garden bed, crows over the crops, syrup or confetti on a machine or table, a doodle on a window. Each one slows something down until you tap its and clean it up, which pays a few coins.

Also new

  • Lightning Rod. A new garden piece in the Shop's Protection aisle, from level 8. Beds in its reach take half the damage and never burn out.
  • Friends to the rescue. Visiting during a storm? Put out a fire in a friend's garden, or help them clear the ash.
  • A friend visited! The card folds like your quests and shows each friend with what they left. On a phone it's a chip in the side column.
  • Weather volume. A new slider in Settings sets the rain and thunder apart from the birds, who go quiet in the rain.
